Anonymous asked: boxing is a ruthless sport roberto duran probably is a top 10 of all time, how good was hagler people think he was average because leonard made him looj bad and this the last question :) how good was hagler
Leonard made a lot of guys look bad. I’d say Hagler is an easy top 50 fighter in history. He was tougher than hell and equally good as a righty or southpaw. He dominated at Middleweight for a long time. He didn’t have the personality (baggage) of some other fighters in his era which is why I think he is overlooked. If he could beat Duran and Hearns he must’ve been pretty damn good. The Hearns fight was insane. Watch if you haven’t.

Anonymous asked: thank you for educating me more on duran,so in your opinion do you think he could beat floyd
Not sure we’d ever find out. I’m sure Floyd would find a reason not to fight. To answer your question though, yes. I think Duran would have no problem getting motivated for someone like Floyd and would come in like the guy who pounded Sugar Ray Leonard in Montreal. If he could beat Leonard, who was faster, stronger and tougher than Floyd, I see no reason why Money wouldn’t get a deserved beating too.

Anonymous asked: Ok my assesment on him is misguided i just think the whole no mas thing has ruined his legacy and hagler clearly won easy again duran
No question No Mas is a black eye, but if that never happens I think Duran becomes an all-time top 3 fighter versus top 10. Even with that on his resume, he’s up there with the very greatest to ever lace up the gloves. There is no doubt about that. The man was a fucking beast.

Anonymous asked: maybe your right but how good can he be he lost to hagler hearns and leonard???
Name me a greater more dominant Lightweight in the history of boxing, and if you can, which I doubt, tell me if that guy could move up as far as middleweight and win a title. You’re talking about 30 pounds right there. Btw, he beat the crap out of Leonard when both fighters were at their peak. He gave Hagler all he could handle and more. Hearns was a terrible matchup for him because of his length and power. Styles make fights. You could do a lot worse than losing to those guys. The mere fact that Duran got in the ring with them after spending most his career at 135 is nuts. You’re measuring the guy on L’s, most of which came late in his LONG career. Go look at the W’s. It might surprise you

Anonymous asked: NO MAS!!!
Last thing I ever think about when it comes to Duran. The people who bring that up are those who know little about the story before and after.
